Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs Landscapes
This lesson was a lot of fun for everyone and great exercise for our imaginations! We first talked about what a landscape was and what our Chicago landscape looks like before reading the book "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs." Students then looked closely at each of the illustrations of landscapes in the book before imagining and creating their own city made of food. We talked about how we can substitute shapes of real things, for example the shape of a slide, for something we eat, like bacon! This was a great lesson for the week before spring break!
