Students learned about one of the most famous artists in history - Pablo Picasso. Picasso invented a brand new style of creating art - Cubism.
Cubism is combining a 3D object from all angles and viewpoints onto a 2D, flat surface.
Students used a wax-resist method of creating their cubist portraits (portraits are pictures of people). They first used a crayon (wax) to draw the portrait, then painted over it using watercolors (water "resists" painting over wax).
