Winter Trees

3rd graders learned how to draw trees (lots and lots of big, medium and small letters "y" and "v").  They then used oil pastel to trace over their tree before using watercolors, with extra water, to paint the background in cool colors add salt on top of the water to create a snow-like effect. Once the watercolor paint had dried, we used white paint to add snowflakes and snow that had gathered on the trees.
