Amate Bark Paintings

My after-school students learned about Amate Bark paintings of Mexico (http://www.mexican-folk-art-guide.com/amate-paper.html#.VWxx-FxViko).  Each student used photographs as reference and sketched out their idea before drawing it with pencil on the bark paper.  They traced over their pencil lines with sharpie before carefully painting it in. Lastly students added painted details before re-tracing their line with the sharpie marker again.
