1st graders looked at the art of Giuseppe Arcimboldo and how he used food to create portraits!!! Students loved his art and couldn't wait to get started! I tried this project a few different ways, but the most successful one was going step by step to think of what food could be a nose, then drawing it, etc. for each the facial features. This was a quick, one-day lesson for when I taught in the classrooms during testing week!
