Jim Dine

Four paintings by Jim Dine
Students learned about the artist Jim Dine and explored the many meanings of the heart shape.
We looked at how color, line, and shape can make patterns that make us feel different ways.

Students then created their own Jim Dine heart by following these steps:
1) Draw a large heart in the middle of the paper.
2) Using a ruler, draw lines going all different directions in and outside of the heart.
3) Draw patterns of shapes, lines, and colors using a sharpie and crayons.
