Van Gogh's "Starry Night"

4th graders studied Vincent Van Gogh and his impressionist style of painting (using short, broken strokes without fully blending color).  Then students looked at his most famous painting, "Starry Night" and began the process of making their own version, first using oil pastels before painting over it with watercolors.
