Winter Night Landscape Silhouettes

5th graders did a beautiful job with this winter project!  First they learned about tints and shades, then created a snowy winter night sky with tints and shades of blue.  A tint is a color + white, and a shade is a color + black.  Students then added silhouettes using black paint, and finally finished their winter landscapes with white painted snow.
