Winter Watercolor Trees

3rd graders created winter tree art using the wax resist method (students drew the trees in crayon first, then painted cool color watercolors over it).  Students were given green, blue and red paint and had to create purple by mixing red and blue together on their paper. Students also used the salt technique to create a snowy effect by sprinkling salt onto their wet watercolor paper.  Last, students added white paint to finish their snowy landscapes.
