2nd graders learned all about tints this week. A tint = a color + white. So, pink is a tint of red (red + white = pink). Students divided their paper into 4 squares. They painted one square the pure color. Then they mixed in a little white and painted a second square. Students repeated this step until they got 3 tints. Once dried, students looked at the artwork of Wayne Thiebaud and created their version of the ice cream cone painting using their painted tints.
